At St Mary’s College, the health and well-being of our students are a priority. Our College Health Centre is led by qualified and experienced Registered Nurses, who provide professional health care and support to students throughout the College Day.
The centre is equipped with essential medical supplies and resource. It serves as a hub for first aid and ongoing health management.
The Health Centre responsibilities include:
- Managing Illness and Injuries: Assessing and treating minor injuries and medical issues that arise during the school day and providing appropriate care or referrals when needed.
- Health Monitoring: Supporting students with ongoing medical conditions such as asthma, diabetes, allergies, and epilepsy, ensuring care plans are in place and followed.
- Medication Administration: Administering prescribed and over-the-counter medications in accordance with s college policy and parental consent.
- Health Education: Promoting healthy lifestyles and well-being through individual support and health awareness initiatives.
- Safeguarding and Emotional Support: Immediately Informing the Wellbeing Director and College Counsellor in regard to a mental health presentation, safeguarding appearance and or disclosures.
- Liaison with Families and Healthcare Providers: Collaborating with parents, carers, and external healthcare professionals to ensure the best outcomes for each student.
